Graduation Dress dilemma

This weeks blog, has a bit more of a personal touch to it. After three and a half years of libraries, assignments, and endless coffee trips to Starbucks, I finally have my B.A degree in International Relations. The graduation ceremony turned out to land on the same day as our graduation ball. Which meant a potential two dress scenario and lots of stressed out women! For the day ceremony I opted for a LBD from A-Wear for 45 euro, because realistically I knew the cap and gown would cover most of the dress anyway. I jazzed it up with killer gold and black heels from River Island and a snazzy clutch. To complete the look I teamed it up with this necklace from Aldo. ( my gown seems to be covering it a little in the photo so here’s a proper photo!) . Aldo necklace: 25 euro Bag : Miss Selfridge : 35 euro Heels: River Island : On Sale 20 euro ( happy days!! ) For the ball dress I went to Coast. I decided on a floor length red dress which came in at 235 euro, but with their student discount (which I never knew about) I walked away with a mini bargain of 180euro. Any discount for Louise= a happy Louise!:). As for accessories, my Nana gave me her ruby and gold earrings which just fell to my neck, matching bracelet and ring. So lesson learned : asking relatives ahead of time really does come in handy!:) My good friend Saoirse took a different approach and decided on a dress that took her from day to night. She embraced the black LBD for the day ceremony, but with fabulous jeweled embellishment on the top half it transformed into evening wear really well! As it turned out cocktail dresses appeared to be one of the favorites on the night itself. Ruth on the other hand picked up her bargain dress for just under a 100 euro on sale. The back is cut out in a Giorgio Armani style plunge which she decided to have fitted with a gold and cream floral lace panel. Trust me it was amazing.. and such a good idea!
