Catwalk Curves: Spring Summer Whites

As the white tailored ensembles made a statement on the catwalks this season with designers such as Victoria Beckham, DKNY and Rachel Zoe embracing full ‘white out’ looks, I decided todays post would be more of a trend tackler. While catwalk looks can often be daunting, I wanted to take one of the more difficult season trends and make it easy to achieve for various body types.

This wrap waistcoat instantly gives structure to your frame because:

1- It’s adjustable meaning you can pick and choose where you want it to sit on your frame.

2- For apple and pencil shapes it will help to identify more of a waistline to give more of a curvy shape.

3- For pear and hourglass frames it enhances your curvy silhouette.

As this is a longer length wrap style it will also help to hide any lower tummy area if you wanted. For today I paired this with a white vest top, however if you are smaller busted for an evening you might opt to go for a low plunge effect and throw in some double sided sticky tape for good measure!

Now to the next phase, the trousers! When it comes to this tailored white styles, cigarette pants to culottes are certainly a trend favourite but as I mentioned I wanted to keep this post completely wearable for everyone. With this in mind, wide leg trousers are effortlessly stylish and comfortable which you will find can be easily restyled in a more casual way too! For tall girls look to brands like AsosMissguided for similar styles and for petites you can look to River Island and Missguided also.

Accessories:

Black accessories with a full white look is my favourite ensemble as it’s instantly classy and will work for day or night. I opted for my Karl Lagerfeld bag and See by Chloe bracelet which you might have seen in a recent blog post here. I also have a new addition to my accessories family this week which was sent to me; a beautiful card wallet by Diane Von Furstenberg. It’s easy to manage for smaller handbags or if you want to travel light. There are lots of card wallet styles around at the moment and some rather pricey ones too. This was really middle of the road at €50 / £41 and I loved the statement detail!
