The Travel Friendly Makeup Palettes You Need To Know About!

Around this time of the year you’ll always see new arrivals on the beauty seen in time for summer. Over the past few weeks there has been tonnes of press events for various product launches, meaning lots of beauty product to test out to find true beauty gems!

The two products I’ve reviewed today are from The Balm and Fuschia cosmetics. Both are extremely practical for travelling or even in your everyday handbag for those of us who like to have a good makeup safety net at hand at all times. The packaging of both palettes are presented in extremely light containers while still being durable. They also hold full size eye shadows with a generous selection in colours which is what makes them so review worthy!:)

Meet Matte Trimony

This month I went along to the launch of ‘Meet Matte Trimony’ ; the newest addition to The Balm cosmetics family ( inventors of the famous Mary Lou highlighter). It holds nine complete and utterly matte shades that will work day or night. I’m very much a traditionalist when it comes to matte shades so I tend to stay within the nude pinks and brown shades when it comes to matte. The purple and burgundy tones would be way too adventurous for me personally but I know a lot of people who love those shades for an evening. The shades blend really easily ( I use Technique brushes at the moment), and it’s so neat and compact that you could fit it into even the smallest of clutch bags and includes a generous sized mirror of daily makeup touch-ups.

Fuchsia – Nudes Take 2

This Fuchsia Nudes Take 2 palette happened to be in a goody bag from the Image Magazine beauty awards last month and it was an instant hit with me.  Fuchsia is an Irish makeup company for those of you who may not be familiar with it in the U.K and the U.S.A.  With this palette you have seven everyday shades which vary from matte to shimmer. The colour pay off is brilliant and I loved the variation of tones it has to offer.

If you find you’ve applied too many matte shades and want to brighten up your eyes quickly, then the ‘Sugar Cane’ shade does that instantly without giving a colour overlap effect or that dreaded eyeshadow ‘caked’ look.

Out of the entire palette ‘Ginger Snaps’ is the key shade I seem to be turning to the most as I do tend to lean towards gold and copper shimmer tones.  The only thing that lets the palette down is the mirror as it is quite thin, however it does the job if you’re applying makeup on the run. Retails at €27.50 from Fuschia stores and Fuschia.ie Lou x
