New York Fashion Week Look: Day 2 ( Under €70!)

For day two I wanted to create a look that dealt with various trends but one that was cost effective too. I’ve seen so much street style at Fashion Weeks over the years and one thing I wanted to show is that you don’t need to spend a fortune to target key trends. I took to Primark who I collaborated with to achieve this look meaning that from head to toe this entire outfit cost less than €70! So today you will see five different trends in one: Frills, culottes, metallic shoes, tassel earrings and animal print! As this particular day was close to 39 degrees I needed to have a nice combination of breathable fabrics but that were still of course Fashion Week appropriate.

Trend one: Frills

This year frilled tops and dresses have certainly taken over the fashion world by storm. The one shoulder frill effect in particular was a keen favourite by big fashion names such as Isabel Marant and Saint Laurent for AW 2016. It’s a style that is actually exceptionally wearable for a multitude of bust types as the Asymmetric line will sit across the chest nicely. If you are fuller busted also, the double drape effect means you won’t get that tight pulling effect on the fabric. I opted for a bold blue tone as it seems more fashion week appropriate but also something that could easily be restyled for another occasion too.

Trend two: Culottes

The culottes are a trend that was all over the A/W catwalks for this season. You are sure to find this style across the high street and a huge range of designer brands. These particular ones are quite tailored and feel so expensive on. To give them more of an edge I added this biker inspired belt to it which fused the top and culottes together perfectly. You can mix this up in so many different ways. I actually restyled these during the trip with a black high neck top to create more of a crisp jumpsuit effect so they also work out as a good addition to your suitcase if you are planning a trip any time soon.

Trend 3: Tassel Earrings

The tassel earring trend is something I’ve been in two minds about. I’m not a huge earring person and while I look at my other fashion blogger friends who have totally rocked this trend with bright orange and eccentric styles it’s taking me some time to warm up to it. I opted for delicate classic black style which personally I think if you’re dipping your toes in this trend is a great starting point. I’m now hooked on them as they are surprising light to wear too and cost just €3!

Trend 4:  Metallic shoes

Accessories are certainly a key focal point at fashion weeks and while I tend to stick to my classic colours for shoes, I loved how the metallic trend is actually quite versatile – almost the new nude shoe! If you want to play it safe stick to an open toe style like the one I have here. I also liked the lace up detail, which gave more of a designer feel to it.

Trend 5: Faux snakeskin

Animal prints are usually a fashion favourite for the Autumn Winter and this season brands like Burberry and Dior have retaken to snake print styles. For fashion weeks in particular bloggers usually need a bag that will hold a multitude of things that won’t weigh you down too much either as the days are quite long. This particular one held flat shoes, my Canon handheld camera, a mobile phone power bank charger and of course makeup! The monochrome take on this trend also means you can work it into you wardrobe quite easily especially if you are looking to break up an all black look.
