The Statement Parka

There has certainly been a coat theme running through my last few blog posts, and today’s post embraces more of a statement parka style. I love the comfort parka style coats have to offer but I do tend to prefer something that has more of a twist. I found this coat a few weeks ago and it’s been a total lifesaver without a doubt. The black and gold detail teamed with its snug faux fur lining and hood was the big selling point for me as I love cosy pieces for the winter months. For curvy girls or those looking to embrace their shape, look to parka styles where you can define the waistline via a canvas style cord – this is something really common in parkas so it will be easy to come across. As parka coats are thicker in material than typical coat styles, and usually found without a belt, it’s good to look to styles that won’t consume your frame completely.

I teamed todays look with a long sleeve print statement top, my scuba jeans from last weeks post and my new Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses which are officially my new babies! Full look below and links can be found at the bottom of this post.
