Merry Christmas Dad.x

For the last few years there’s always been a Christmas day blog post and while I debated it this year after losing my dad recently it suddenly became obvious. Christmas was his favourite time of the year. So for the day thats in it, today’s outfit post is for my stylish Dad. Navy’s and nautical inspiration was a big part of his sleek style. Today I’m wearing a long lined navy military coat from New Look which sits delicately open. It’s ideal for all bust types while showing off your outfit too!

I teamed the coat with a long sleeve breton stripe top and a 60’s high waisted A-line navy skirt. This is a great style in particular for apple and pear shapes as it helps to give more of a streamlined look. To give more colour to this look if you wish, burgundy shades work wonderfully well so I’ve added both ankle boots and a leather clutch. You can easily do this with navy or a dark brown to achieve the same effect. To finish off the look of course, I’m wearing my dad’s favourite Daniel Wellington watch I bought him a few years ago.

I’ll always remember the Christmas album full of all the classic Christmas songs from Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and Sinatra that would be played in his car on repeat for weeks on end during December. Dad and I would sing our hearts out ( usually off key) to Jingle Bells, I’ll Be Home For Christmas and his favourite Silent Night.  On Christmas eve he would sit in the kitchen religiously preparing his ”secret recipe” stuffing and peeling potatoes for Christmas day dinner while mum, my brothers and I went to visit our relatives. His secret recipe was too precious to leave the house!! Memories I’ll always cherish but miss terribly every day.

Merry Christmas Dad and to all my amazing readers who have just been so incredibly supportive these past few weeks.

Love Lou. xx
