Trend Tackler : Embroidery and the “IT” jeans

One of the biggest trends for 2017 that you are bound to see everywhere will be the embroidery trend. You’ll see embroidered detail on anything from leather jackets to dresses, jeans to jumpers, shirts to shoes- the works! As it’s something some people can be hesitant about, for today I just wanted to show a delicate hint of it for those who would just like to dip their toes in this trend. The beauty of embroidery is that it can bring that added oomph to even the most simple or classic look. I’ve also picked a colour range today that is going to be a very easy transitional look across the Spring and Summer months and something that crosses over into ‘casual’ workwear attire too!

The shirt is from Only and is slightly oversized so while the tag reads EU 42 it would easily fit size 16-18. The slightly loose effect works for fuller busted ladies who tend to struggle to find blouses and shirts. I would definitely recommend it but ensure you pair it with something more tailored like a blazer ( see below) to keep structure to your frame or alternatively as opposed to jeans pair it with a simple A-line high waisted skirt and tuck the shirt in to give you shape. There are more styles at the bottom of this post for various sizes too including tall girl options.

For jeans I embraced another trend for this season which is the light wash jean with a frayed end. You can pair them with bold ankle boots to channel some Prada inspiration or as seen here with some embroidered sneakers embracing that Gucci style ( but at a smaller fraction of the price).

Blues and light beige camel tones work really well together and something like this blazer will work as a statement classic for a smart weekend look or for a more formal setting.
