The Holiday Style Round Up

Todays post is a mini haul featuring some of my holiday favourites from May. I wanted to feature key things that are either difficult to find for curvy frames or some more obvious pieces like the LBD that are oftentimes underestimated in the holiday suitcase! There is a selection below of day and evening outfits, a strong emphasis on swimwear and of course my handbag holiday favourites too! Let me know which is your favourite look! Lou xx

The Easy Dress It Up Or Down Look

Top and shorts combinations are a Summer favourite of mine, particularly for holiday packing as they are so easy to mix and match. Frill tops are a huge trend this year and I do love how easy to wear they are for all shapes – this particular one comes in numerous colours and variations of these styles are certainly easy to find in various high street stores. For shorts, I try to opt for tailored shorts where possible so I can have the best of both worlds- dressing them up for a night out with ease. This particular style has belt detailing which defines your waistline delicately and gives you the option to interchange the belt also if you prefer. The LBD

A little black dress is always something I take with me at any time of the year for its practicality. This is a high low cut style giving a beautiful effect as you walk. The front gives the illusion of a halterneck style but in fact the back zips up fully giving you more options to wear a bra of your choice.

Beach To Bar Style

This is a really fresh and incredibly comfortable holiday look. The statement kaftan certainly makes an impact but each of these pieces worn together or separately can make great holiday outfits. For example you can pair the kaftan with a short white dress, a playsuit or white culottes and a simple top for a more glam holiday feel. The denim shorts are a more boyfriend style cut – my favourite fit at the moment. I love shorts that look semi fitted so you are guaranteed they won’t rise as you walk but won’t swamp your curves either. The best places I found to shop for this cut at the moment are River Island, New Look and Next.

The Statement Swimsuit

Statement swimsuits are a key trend this year. I picked up this Mermaid Academy one from Next recently. It’s double lined in the bust area with medium support and overall gave some great Baywatch vibes to it!

Frill charm

This bardot frill swimsuit from the Gabi Fresh collection at Swimsuits For All was something I’ve wanted for SO long. As soon as I saw it in her campaign I was in love and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It gave a great curvy silhouette with thanks to the hidden tummy control panelling . I couldn’t fault the comfort in any way and the key thing here is that you can just add some denim or white shorts and go straight to lunch as it doubled up as a gorgeous top!

Swimsuit:  here – today wearing US size 14 – which is around a UK size 16.

Tropical inspiration

Tropical prints are always a summer favourite. This Asos swimsuit was really beautiful on with very secure side paneling. The only thing I would have liked to have been added would be light padding in the bust area. The back detail makes up for it with tie back and bow detailing that is extremely flattering on.

Ashley Graham Swimwear

This black and floral number is a low plunge / high- thigh cut swimsuit from Ashley Graham Swimsuits For All collection. It’s my first piece I’ve picked up from her range and overall I found it to be really flattering on. There was perfect width on either side and a light padding which gave great support to the bust area. It gave lift and shape without worrying you might fall out in any way along with firm tummy control too!

The Summer Bag:

Tan shades for are a huge summer favourite of mine and this particular bag proved to be a super travel handbag and overall day-to-day bag during our holiday.

The cross over statement bag

Cross body bags are always a great day to night bag option.  This particular one is more of a statement feel dressing up even a basic outfit – they’re also really easy to pack too.
