Designer Spotlight: Marina Rinaldi X Fausto Puglisi

I can count on my hand the number of times I’ve seen a designer and plus collection that has really stopped me in my tracks. Christian Siriano’s ground breaking NYFW show was one, Richard Quinn x Debenhams was another ( while it’s not exactly plus but good to see that it goes up to a size 20) and another collabouration this year ; Fausto Puglisi and Marina Rinaldi. For those who may not be familiar with the brand Marina Rinaldi is apart of the Max Mara group, a sister brand which has paved an incredibly stylish way for the designer conscious plus size fashion individual since the 1980s; think incredible quality and chic Italian silhouettes!  They have always been so fashion forward in their collabourations and their capsule collection with Fausto Puglisi is certainly one to take note of for Autumn Winter 2018/19. As a designer Puglisi is Italian born now living in New York. His designs are a rush of edginess among his beautiful sharpe tailoring, a sense of his Italian culture mixed with a beautiful balance of a modern touch which he has most certainly brought into this line with Marina Rinaldi. Below you will find a combined fashion romance of geometric prints to sharp necklines and high slits. It’s bringing a wonderful sense of powerful femininity and seductiveness to the plus size world which I find is so greatly welcomed. When the designer himself was asked about teaming up with Marina Rinaldi his view he said: “I like Marina Rinaldi’s inclusive message. The fabrics and workmanship must be exclusive, whereas all women must feel free to wear whatever they like, regardless of their size”. Something I hope more designers will find themselves embracing in their own personal collections also as this particular line ranges in sizes 12-28 which can be found online (worldwide shipping) and in selected Marina Rinaldi stores which you can check out here.
