My DIY Halloween costume

For those interesting in what I got up to this Halloween weekend, I decided to make the costume myself and went as an American footballer. It was surprisingly easy, fun and cheap to make.

Get a playsuit or shorts and tshirt. Make sure the t-shirt is one size bigger than normal to allow for shoulder pads.

Take a contrasting coloured tshirt or material such a red to use for the Jersey numbers.

Cut an A4 sized number out ( I chose 4 as it was easy to cut) followed by two smaller numbers for the shoulders roughly 8 inches.

 Sew numbers onto top.

Take a pair of tights to make shoulder pads, fill the tights with cotton wool and measure against your shoulders to ensure they sit properly

Once measured cut the tights , tie them in a knot and sew them into place.

Get a pair of sport socks or knee high socks.

Wrap thin white bandages across your hands for added effect.

Do your makeup as you would normally for a night out then add to black lines to your cheeks using black liquid eyeliner.

Get a pair of white runners or shoe boots you may have lying around the house, an amercian football ( £5)  and voila… your an American Footballer! 🙂
