Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa review

Last week I was sent Vichy’s newest product on the market, Aqulia Thermal Night Spa, to try out. As you all know I am a huge fan of hydrating products so I was looking forward to trying this out. As a product it is certainly unique as it can be used as both a night mask or as a night moisturiser. They have cleverly used elements of Vichy’s thermal spa water with hyaluronic acid which helps to plump the skin and aquabioryl which is extremely hydrating. Together they create a steady release of hydration to your face throughout the night. The ingredients aid cell renewal, skin repair and helps to create the anti fatigue effect it promises to produce.

The first evening I tried this, I used Night Spa as a sleeping mask as the sun had left my skin feeling irritated and in need of some TLC.It comes with an application method to achieve the best hydrating and anti fatigue results. Following the instructions, I applied a generous layer to several points on my face and neck. I gently massaged the product in an upwards motion across my face, then gently massaged my temples and across my eyebrows. You will feel an immediate effect of the gel when you apply it. It’s fresh and invigorating making your skin feel instantly relaxed. I was worried that the gel would either leave a tight mask feeling or soak into my skin with just temporary hydration. The next day, however, my skin thankfully felt like silk. It didn’t leave a greasy or oily effect which a lot of hydrating products can do. The glow to my skin was also very noticeable so I opted for a few makeup free days as a result. Since then I’ve used a very light layer at night as a moisturiser because the sun has been so strong. I would definitely recommend this for dry and sensitive skin types but also for anyone who might have gotten some sunburn over the last few weeks as it’s really soothing and the ingredients would be great to help heal damaged areas. The overall verdict: Available in pharmacies and online, retails at €27 / £23
