The feminine biker look

 

Punk rebellion fashion was a huge hit for A/W 2013 with a strong concentration on the longline biker coat. I’ve seen a wide variety of styles lately but I really wanted to indulge into something different. Another trend which a lot of you might have seen is the “all white” look which has been quite popular among the celebrity culture. For me, as much as I would love to pull off a full white outfit, I’m extremely messy so fusing the two trends together seemed to be a happy medium. As a result, I decided to go for a feminine biker look that will work perfectly for the upcoming party season.

The coat is from River Island and is a piece I feel will look fantastic over the next few months. There is a similar version here from Simply Be for more size selections.

I’m going to keep it for more good wear as it really gives a nice edge to party looks. I tried it with a couple of my party dresses from last year and it instantly gave them a 2013 on trend lift. I added a pop of colour with this red satin clutchto give it more of an evening feel.

I paired it with this glitter skirt from Dorothy Perkins. When I saw it in the store it just screamed ‘party season’. I just knew it would work for my feminine biker style I was going for. I paired it with this light cashmere jumper to add warmth to the look. I love utilising jumpers lately but for an evening look make sure it’s thin so it still shows off some of your shape. Too bulky and it will bring you more into the day look and it’s not always as flattering.

Adding a statement necklace is a must for me with something as plain as this jumper. I wanted to keep in line with the skirt so I opted for a silver biker chain with gorgeous beaded detail, which happened to be a bargain find from Primark/ Penneys. The shoes are from last season but work perfectly. You can go for a closed toe boot also, I just personally preferred these today! 🙂 Lou.
