Burgundy warmth

Just because we’re heading into Winter doesn’t mean we have to keep ourselves heavily covered with coats. To break up a winter wardrobe I love to layer things. I’m quite fond of Aztec cardigans at the moment which made a great excuse to put it into this weeks outfit post. Burgundy is a great alternative to black, and because it’s still a dark colour you will find it easy to pair it with other items in your wardrobe. It’s also a great colour on a majority of skin tones. 🙂

The overall look is something you can wear to work, casual meetings, castings and college. I’m wearing nude tights but it would work perfectly with brown tights or light burgundy. This Aztec cardigan is one of my favourite pieces by A Wear at the moment. It looks lightweight at first but it’s actually extremely warm. It sits really well, unlike some other kinds that can add a lot of bulk to your body. The tan bag just holds everything, which is perfect for holding my model portfolio and work essentials. 🙂

The trick with cardigans is to wear something fitted underneath or a belted item, like you can see here with this skater style dress. The dress is something I liked because it’s practical and useful over the coming months. All you have to do is add a statement necklace, a pretty belt, a pair of high heels and you have yourself a perfect look for an evening out. The dress is a generous size so even though it goes up to a size 18, it would probably fit up to a 20.

My chelsea boots are a deep tan from TK Max, a bargain find which I’m pretty pleased with myself over! They have a nice block heel which is both perfect and comfortable for a casual smart day look.
