Winter Faux

I’m the type of person that feels the cold quite badly, so over the past few weeks, thermal vests, hot water bottles and jumpers have been my go to! Today’s street style look is very much a wrap up warm winter look but something which will take you anywhere from weekend style to casual drinks with your friends. As always I only feature faux fur, so this faux suede and faux fur gilet ensemble ticks all of the boxes. From March onwards River Island too will be joining the plus size fashion bandwagon which will start at a size 18 so I truly can’t wait to see their full collection! But that’s for another post! 🙂

For today’s overall look it’s quite 70’s inspired with a long sleeved polo-neck ( turtleneck for my U.S readers) mixed with the faux suede gilet and dark wash jeans. It’s simple but effective as the gilet does all the style talking for you. For curvier frames when it comes to faux suedes, look to styles that you can leave open if you wish or that belt around the middle which will help to define your waist. If you see belted jackets or coat styles that wrap just above hips, stay clear as they’re not the most flattering on!
