The Summer Dress Edit To Take You Anywhere

July can be a difficult time to shop or find what you want with Summer sales, while others find this time of the year an awkward time to judge when it comes to the weather. Todays post I wanted to try categorise some styles a little more that would make shopping a little bit easier particularly for finding key dresses that would cover various occasions that will work every Summer for you too. The Glam Option:  At The Races To Wedding Guest Dress

Floaty styles, high cut necklines and midi lengths are always wonderful when it comes to finding the right occasion wear style that will work for various events.

Yellow dress worn above from Asos here in sizes 8-18 and in curve here in a sorbet mint colour.

The High Low Dress:

Hi low dresses I find have a subtle elegance to them and something which will work forever. Great to dress up or down, thrown in the holiday suitcase or for me they’re usually that back up emergency dress on work trips abroad when the dress code may not always be clear.

Red dress Chi Chi London curve here sizes 18 -26, here in sizes 4-16 and here in petite lengths

The Maxi Dress:

Maxi dresses deserve a post in itself. I’m a huge fan of this style for day or night to airport style. It’s a style I wear easily from early Summer through to September, paired with a denim jacket or light weight biker jacket on rainy days and my good maxi dress finds have always been in my wardrobe for years.

Red stripe maxi sizes 8-18 here / Khaki button maxi dress sizes 18-28 ( select sizes left) here

Shift Dresses and Slip Dress Styles:

Slip dresses made a recent come back this year and certainly something to keep in mind for maximising your wardrobe for A/W too. If you’re buying this style now look to colours that you can easily wear in the Winter with darker accessories, with tights or boots. The dress I’m wearing above I would restyle for the cooler months with a biker jacket and open toe black boots for a more grunge feel to it. Sequin slip dress: here ( big fit size down)

The Bardot Cut:

The Bardot cut is possibly my all time favourite style, especially when paired with a front frill effect. It’s a brilliant option for holidays if you’re out for the day exploring and going straight to dinner, or perhaps it’s one of those humid days and you still want to feel somewhat glam or summer inspired; Bardot styles are a fantastic option for this. Whats more you’ll find every year the same cuts come back in so they work as great investment purchase too. Both dresses above were from a press trip to Morocco with Next ( a few months old but similar styles on their website and below)
