Millie & Gym at Lifestyle Sports Review

Recently I was sent two pieces to review from the new Millie & Gym collection which hit Lifestyle Sports stores this month. I was slacking in the gym last month so it was a great incentive to get myself back on track. I’ve been a sufferer of M.E (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) since I was about 15 and one of the best ways I’ve found to keep it at bay is exercise, as strange as that may sound! My routine varies but in the main I tend to juggle cardio with light aerobics or weights. Myself and Mr.Style Me Curvy thought it would surely put the Millie & Gyms top and sports bra to the test. Heres what I thought of them.

( top can be worn slightly off the shoulder too)

First up, the sports bra. The colour is a bright and vibrant turquoise bringing some fun into a workout. The elastic band on sports bras in general tend to hurt me. This was actually pleasantly soft with a good amount of stretch in it for lifting weights, push ups etc. The size I was given was a large which is equivalent to a size14-16. My cup size is between a C or a D and it just fitted, but after wearing it for over an hour you get a little more stretch. It has light padding at the front and the material is extremely soft.

When it comes to sizing I would say if your cup size is between a A-D cup, it would be fine. DD cup sizes would have to go up a size but beyond that, I feel that this bra wouldn’t be supportive enough for you if you jog regularly or do heavy cardio sessions as it is not a shock absorbing kind. Overall it gets a thumbs upfor comfort factor for me personally and what I look for in a sports bra.

Would I repurchase it again in the future? Definitely yes.

The top is a loose graphic T-shirt with light cotton which skims over the body nicely. It’s breathable with a dip back covering part of your derrière. With sports tops some people like them fitted, others prefer baggy loose tops. This is somewhere in the middle as it gives your body an outline but still loose enough to do any sporting activity without having to worry if your top will keep rising. I’m wearing a large which is a 16. It goes up to an 18 but as it’s generous, a size 20 could try it also.

I did some light rowing to TRX and lots of squating. The top still didn’t rise at the front or the back nor did I feel over heated – even though it was certainly a sweaty betty workout. haha

Overall I have to say I am very please with new range. Its affordable, comfortable and trendy. I’ve even added this number to my list.
