Travels of a curvy model: Milan – part 1

Last month Style Me Curvy went to fashion capital Milan for Milan Design Week. I adore Italy but this was my first time in Milan so I can tell you excitement was an understatement!  I was brought over by Elena Miro, as most of you might know I have been one of her official bloggers since February, so it was a great opportunity to see their new Miroglio della Scala store in the heart of Milan. To end the trip on a high I was approached by a fantastic model agency, which was really exciting so I’m now signed in Milan too. Yay!:) Below you will see what I got up to for some of the trip as next week I will have more travel information for what to do and see while in Milan itself.

Here with the creative director from the Miroglio group who presented a fashion show I was attending. A lovely woman who showed me through other Italian brands I didn’t  know about such as Oltre as well as Florella Rubina who both have a nice modern feel and with great bargain finds too. I’m wearing an Elena Miro piece from her latest collection which you will see in the next blog post on the Elena Miro website later this month. It has an unusual mixture of floral meets the sports luxe trend which I really liked as something different.

A quick snap wearing an oversized colour block dress also from Elena Miro which I now seriously regret not buying.  It was a great way to wear neon in a discrete way and even though oversized means you have zero shape to your silhouette, it just looked beautiful and it was so comfortable I could have slept in it!

Talking lots of fashion and finding out lots of interesting places to see in Milan from  Italian blogger Georgia Marino from Morbita La Vita who recently launched her own magazine in Italy called Curve!

The two outfits above were my favourites looks from the Elena Miro show, which are from the limited edition dress collection. They were just so effortlessly chic and gave an instant burst of Summer to the room.

This handbag was I came across in one of the fashion sections really appealed to me. It’s ideal for those who like to have a lot of space in their handbag and this watercolour detail is just beautiful!

Some pieces I came across at design week, lots of random but extremely quirky and interesting ideas. The photo with the clutch bags are actually made out of 100% recycled material and even old computer keyboard keys! It was a really exciting trip with so much to see, as I mentioned at the beginning my next post of the trip deals with more specific travel around Milan itself, places to see and where to stay, so be sure to stay tuned for that! 🙂 Lou x
