NYX Cosmetics arrives to Irish shores!

Big news hit bloggers inbox’s two weeks ago when we were told that US brand NYX would be hitting Irish shores! I managed to get my hands on some products in advance to try out which I wanted to share with you here. When I was in New York I swore by their blushers but I stupidly didn’t buy more products to bring home. Now sanity has been restored! Hurray! Whats even more notable is that the price range is around the Rimmel level which I was delighted to hear.

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see I’ve been raving about the NYX HD Concealer wand. I was under the weather for the majority of last month. Dark circles unfortunately became part of my everyday appearance and my other concealers gave a coverage but not a glow like this gives. It seems to have reflective properties which lift the eyes completely. Happy days! 🙂 – €6.99/£5 – colour: beige

The matte lipstickin nude I’m wearing here was a nice soft shade. I’m not a huge colour person when it comes to lipsticks as most of you probably know by now. It lasted a long time but I did find it drying on the lips after a while which most matte lipsticks tend to do. – €7.50/£5.50 colour: nude

NYX ‘Propel My Eyes’mascara gives nice definition with a light fluttering lash effect. For me I think it is just enough for during the day, but I like more volume for an evening. The conditioning formula in it I found really good so if you have perhaps been using a heavy mascara and your eyelashes are in need of some extra TLC this would be a lovely alternative but paying the price is debatable. -€12.99/£10.99 colour: black

This blonzer/blusher combination is just fantastic and I really don’t know why I haven’t looked to similar styles like this in the past. Literally sweep your blusher brush over this palette in an upwards motion then apply to your checks. It gives a perfect combination of definition and colour in seconds, probably the biggest time saving beauty item a girl could own! – €10.99/ £8.99 colour choice : ibiza

Super Skinny eye liner is just like using a felt tip marker, the pointed tip is quite precise making it really quick and easy to apply whether you like a very fine line or something bolder. The shade of black however wouldn’t be extremely strong so you might be disappointed if intense black is more your taste. – €10.49/£8.20 – colour: jet black

To finish off my look above, an eyebrow pencil is always a must for me! Their ‘Auto Eyebrow’ pencil is very similar to Mac and a Bourjois one used in the past. Use the brush at the end to comb your brows before you apply the pencil to get a clean and crisp look. I found the pencil quality did last a number of hours but I will probably use an eyebrow fixing gel in the future just to get a few extra hours out of it for long days. – €5.99/£4.99 – shade: dark brown

I really enjoyed trying out the products so I’ve added a view products to my wishlist which I can hopefully find soon.

NYX HD studio foundation, ‘Born To Glow’ liquid Illuminator, HD Studio finishing powder,

NYX butter lip gloss set, Nude-On-Nude eye shadow palette, NYX nail set.
