London Fashion Week Day 2 Outfit & Show Details

For day 2 of London Fashion Week I opted for more of a girly biker style. I needed a look where I could dash between shows quite comfortably as it’s been exceptionally warm this week, and that day in particular it was around the 19 degrees mark. Because of the heat, skirts have been my go-to for the week and this beautiful purple skirt was a definite on my list. It felt so light but was also a very pretty tulip shape that was incredibly comfortable. It’s also an easy number to restyle, you can put it with a number of tops to create a day or night look, even a crisp white shirt for something in between the two.

For the evenings as it gets cooler I opted for this long lined biker-esqueblazer. It’s been my most used piece so far for me this trip as it goes with so much and the PU detailing just gives it that extra bit of interest. I slicked one side of my hair into a side French plait mainly because leaving my hair down all the time can be somewhat clammy and uncomfortable ( long hair problem sentence!haha). As a result it was a good excuse to embrace my favourite item this season, the ear cuff! I bought this particular one months ago in River Island and I’ve been obsessed with it since as it actually stays on my ear! 🙂

For that day in particular I quite liked this statement tee which I know alot of fellow shopaholics can relate to, an appropriate Fashion Week ensemble I would say!:) ! My sunglasses are from Marc Jacobs, they would be slightly bigger than average aviators but they have a lovely rose tint off the lens making them an easy to wear piece for most outfits. It’s a welcomed change from wearing my black frames all the time too!

After spending the entire day before in heels these platform ankle boots were a god send as my feet were on the verge of divorcing me – which I think every Fashion Week attendee can relate to. In terms of handbags, I’ve been using a variety throughout the week as I needed something which would safely store my camera and of course makeup bag. My LFW day 2 bag, similar here, was something a bit different in terms of my usual choice in handbags but it was a piece that made a statement and I thought would work great in the future with more simple outfits. I also thought it looked far more expensive than €56/£47. 🙂

Show and presentation favourites:

                                                                          Orla Kiely:

The Orla Kiely presentation was one of my highlights, it really stood out in terms of presentations. Behind the models sits a glass window pane where three artists gradually painted a flower as each model came out until the glass was covered in floral inspiration to reflect the sixties vibe of Orla’s collection. Her designs were so beautiful, her variations of pink and pastel tones were something in particular that stood out for me for next season. Makeup was sponsored by Bourjois who creative a very soft look. Foundation was very natural and dewy with exaggerated eyeshadow in the socket of the eye. Hair was poker straight to give that extra innocent girly vibe to a flower power look.

     Danielle Romeril

Fisherman chic meets casual cool bohemian. Danielles inspiration from this collection actually came from a walk in the Wicklow mountains in Ireland ( a fellow Irish lass!).  She envisaged a girl gang living in the mountains to be completely self sufficient which I thought was quite interesting!

There was a whole new level of detail seen at this presentation, from hand painted camouflage print detail on silk organza and lace, to 3D pockets and even dresses with in built backpacks. Danielle wanted to create a youthful but relaxed feel to her collection according to the show notes and she did just that.

House Of Holland

Full to the brim of bold and electric qualities, House of Holland never fails to disappoint. For SS15 there was a huge nod to psychedelic 60’s qualities about his collection. He’s gone for a huge amount of clashing prints and bright bold colours . A collection you will certainly stand out from the crowd with.
