Forever Grey

Missguided recently sent me this coat to review. It had caught my eye primarily because it comes in tall, regular and petite lengths which is rare to come across in terms of coats and outerwear. This kind of style has become quite popularised over the last year in the media by the Kardashian clan, and it’s not a style I would have normally chosen but it instantly grew on me. As I’ve been slowing adding greys into my wardrobe, this was quite a welcomed number as it’s something that can look quite glamorous with a casual look or as styled today for a night out with the girls.

For fit, you will want to go down a size or even two. Normally I take a size 16 whereas today I opted for a size 14 which was still quite roomy as it is a wrap style. Without a doubt its curve friendly and while the sizing on Missguided for this particular style stops at a size 16, it would still easily work for someone up to a size 20. Fuller busts sometimes fear big lapels that draw attention, but in fact the ‘V’ effect the neckline creates makes for an incredibly flattering look. The wrap style across the body creates a sexy slit effect around the legs which I loved, and the belt is positioned perfectly around the middle to give a more curvy silhouette.

While the fabric is light, it’s actually surprisingly warm. As its pure polyester it is the kind of item that you will need to iron first but it’s a small price to pay considering the overall effect it gives. To avoid polyester style belts slipping, I always find it best to tie a loose knot at the front which also helps to keep that hourglass effect.
