Red Allure

When Autumn time arrives, I always get excited to see the beautiful occasion wear from different brands. I think it comes from my time during my degree with all the black tie occasions happening from September onwards. There are some fabulous pieces out at the moment which I will be going into more detail in an upcoming post. For now, I felt this outfit post was necessary as I have been flooded with emails recently looking for bank account friendly occasion wear.

This piece fromLittlewoods Irelandreally caught my attention for two reasons; the combination of mesh panel detail with its long length, channels Ellie Saab style from last years prefall collection. Secondly, the colour red is so flattering on practically every hair and skin colour that it will make a great addition to your wardrobe as it never seems to go out of fashion. I paired it with a satin red clutch in a matching colour so it didn’t take away from the dress, along with my nude open toe heels. I just wanted to bring a hint of sparkle into the look so I added a Swarvoski crystal necklace in silver which worked perfectly. Gold accessories would work just as well with this dress too.

The bodice gives anillusion of sheer detail but there is actually a nude lining underneath so fear not ladies, nothing will be on display! I love the panel detailing and the use of thick lines which is flattering for women who might be diamond shape and bigger on your top half. I have a broad back so I like the fact that the detail was different at the back with a romantic lace panel that gives the impression of a sexy, sheer and low cut line. My only criticism is that I would have liked it to have been more fitted around the waistline.

Overall when choosing occasion wear dresses its really important to be comfortable in what you are wearing. The worst feeling in the world is to be stuck at a long dinner counting down the hours before you can take your Bridget Jones pants off. We’ve all been there! Thankfully I found this to be really comfortable, which is something I had to make sure of when blogging for all your requests. Hopefully I ticked off all the boxes you were looking for.
